Women's Lifting Sessions
To kickstart your training, we are holding weekly group sessions in the lead up to the event. These will cover the basics of powerlifting - what the lifts are and how to safely perform each lift within the competition rules. This will help you know what to expect on the event day and enable you to work towards lifting goals in a supported way. The group sessions are for everyone thinking of taking part in the day, whether you are just starting your lifting journey or want to improve your technique and confidence.
The group training sessions will take place on Friday evenings 7:30-8pm. Each session will focus on one of the lifts which you can enter for in the powerlifting competition. The schedule is below.
31st Jan | Learn how to safely perform the barbell squat and practice technique |
7th Feb | Learn how to safely perform the barbell bench press and practice technique |
14th Feb | Learn how to safely perform the barbell deadlift and practice technique |
21st Feb | Practice barbell squat 1 rep max and plan the weight for your 3 attempts in the competition |
28th Feb | Practice barbell bench press 1 rep max and plan the weight for your 3 attempts in the competition |
7th March | Practice barbell deadlift 1 rep max and plan the weight for your 3 attempts in the competition |
